Guidelines for infection control in kindergarten and schools
The measures for infection control are presented via the traffic light model in the national guidelines, based on the three levels of measures: green, yellow and red.
The recommendation on a national level is to follow the green level of measures in kindergarten, primary and lower secondary school when the local level of infection allows for this. Each municipality must make their own assessments based on the local level of infection.
The recommendation on a national level is to follow the green level of measures in upper secondary schools and educational institutions for adults. Each municipality must make their own assessments based on the local level of infection.
Refer to the webpages of the relevant municipality for information on the level of measures that apply.
You can read more about the guidelines here:

- Guidelines for infection control for primary school levels 1st – 7th (in Norwegian).
- Guidelines for infection control for lower secondary school (levels 8th – 10th) and upper secondary school (in Norwegian).
The Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training provides information for parents and children. Here you will also find information in different languages.
Universities and university colleges
The recommendations are to facilitate in-person education for students at universities, colleges, and vocational colleges, provided that the guidelines for infection control are followed. This includes proper ventilation and airing of rooms, keeping the distance requirements and to stay at home if symptoms appear.
