GP services at Helsenorge

You must log in to see if your GP offers services at Helsenorge. Which services you have access to depends on what your GP has chosen to offer.

If your GP does not offer any digital services via Helsenorge, you will be notified of this when you log in. Even if your GP does not offer digital services via Helsenorge, you will be able to view information about who your GP is and the contact details for the surgery.

The services at Helsenorge have been developed subject to strict security and privacy requirements. This enables you to securely exchange information about your illnesses with your doctor.

Consent

These services require consent to Full Access.

Book an appointment

• Book an appointment – view appointment times that your GP’s surgery has made available for booking, to select from them and to book an appointment. You will be notified when the doctor has confirmed/rejected the appointment.
• Enquiry – here, you can also send a message to your GP and request an appointment at a time that is convenient for you. The enquiry will be dealt with manually at your GP’s surgery. You will receive confirmation once your appointment has actually been booked.

Renew prescription

If your GP offers it, you can request renewal of your prescriptions directly from Medicines when you are logged in to Helsenorge.

You will also have a clear summary of your prescriptions and how much is left on your prescription.

E-consultation

If your GP offers an online doctor’s appointment, you will see this when you log in. This is called "e-consultation" and takes place by means of audio, video or text conversation, for example using a PC, tablet or phone.

You can only use this service when you do not need to be physically present. The service should not be used for urgent medical assistance or emergencies.

Video consultation with your GP via Helsenorge

If your GP offers video consultations via Helsenorge, you can select this under "Book an appointment". To participate in a video consultation you need:

• PC or mobile device with webcam and microphone
• Headphones or possibly a speaker
• Access to the internet

Be prepared that you may have to identify yourself by holding ID with a photo up to the camera. You can also ask the doctor to do the same. 

Contact your GP’s surgery

This service can be used for administrative matters, such as the taking of holiday and parking. Questions submitted via this service will normally be answered by the reception at your GP’s surgery. You cannot access health care services via this service.

Book a flu vaccine appointment

If your GP offers booking of flu vaccine through Helsenorge, you will see this when you click Book an appointment.

Healthcare contacts

If you have a pathway coordinator or other contact person, you will be able to find them in the Health Contacts service at helsenorge.

If your therapist is not in any of these services

If you do not find the therapist you want to contact in any of these services, you must look them up and find their contact information yourself. Look at their website and call them or contact them digitally if possible.

GP’s services for children

If your GP’s system supports it, GP’s services can also be used for children under the age of 16.

In addition, the following limitations apply:

• If one or more of the parents are registered at the same address as the child, both parents will be able to represent the child.

• If neither parent is registered at the same address as the child, neither of them will be able to represent the child.

Parents with custody of a child can then send messages and use the communication services on behalf of their child. These messages will be placed in the child’s patient record.

Children under 16 cannot use the GP’s services on their own.
