Notifications from Helsenorge

Helsenorge notifies you when something has happened, for example if you have a new appointment with your doctor. You can choose to receive notifications directly via the Helsenorge app, as an SMS message or e-mail.

When you are logged in, you will find all the notifications you have received from Helsenorge in the notification list under the bell symbol at the top of the page. You can choose whether you want to receive as few or as many notifications as possible and how you want to receive those notifications.

You can choose what you want to receive notifications about

Many notifications are mandatory; you will receive these regardless of which options you choose. This is because Helsenorge has a duty to provide you with information and is legally required to notify you.

As few notifications as possible (only mandatory ones) 

If you opt to receive mandatory notifications only, we will send you the most important notifications relating to your treatment and information from the healthcare sector. Examples include information about appointments and decisions.

Important notifications (default)

You can choose to receive other important notifications relating to your health and activities that you carry out on Helsenorge, as well as mandatory notifications. Examples include messages relating to prescription renewals.  

As many notifications as possible 

If you choose to receive as many notifications as possible, we will also send notifications that are not directly related to your health, in addition to the important and mandatory ones. Examples include notifications that home visits have been carried out by the health and care services.

You can choose how you wish to receive notifications

You can choose to receive notifications as push notifications directly from the app or via SMS message or e-mail. The information in the notification will be exactly the same, regardless of how you have asked us to notify you. We will send the notifications via SMS message unless you decide you wish to receive notifications in some other way.

Push notifications from the Helsenorge app 

When you log in to the app, you will be asked if you wish to enable push notifications. If you enable push notifications, you will receive all notifications from Helsenorge in the form of push notifications on your mobile phone or tablet. You will not receive SMS messages or e-mails in addition, but the notifications will always be available in your notification overview on Helsenorge. Read more about the Helsenorge app and push notifications.

Notifications via SMS or e-mail

You will find the SMS messages and e-mails under Contact details under Profile and settings in the menu.

Make sure your contact details are correct 

We will obtain your mobile phone number and/or e-mail address from the Common contact register. It is important that you make sure your details in this register are correct and up-to-date, so that you can receive notifications from Helsenorge.
