You can use Helsenorge on behalf of someone else if you have been granted power of attorney to do so. You will then be able to book appointments and request repeat prescriptions, as well as viewing data relating to the health of the person who granted power of attorney.

Once the power of attorney has been created, you will be able to use Helsenorge on behalf of the person who authorised you. You can select to do this after logging in. You will then see the services you have access to use on behalf of the person who authorised you.

The services you can access will depend on:

  • the service area you have decided that the power of attorney will be valid for
  • the services the person who authorised you has access to
  • the services you have access to
  • the level of consent you and the person who authorised you have
  • any opt-outs the person who authorised you has made.

What can I get power of attorney for?

The person who creates the power of attorney can choose what the power of attorney will be valid for, depending on their needs. For example, a power of attorney may be valid only for access to health data or access to medical records or for the authorised person to be able to carry out activities such as booking appointments with the doctor.

Which service area has been selected?

The different services at Helsenorge are split into three groups, referred to as service areas. A power of attorney may be valid for one, two or all three service areas.

If new services are added to Helsenorge, the power of attorney will automatically apply to these services if they are affiliated with the selected service area.

Here, you will be able to view who has granted you with power of attorney, the service areas the power of attorney is valid for and how long the power of attorney is valid for.
