Use the Pregancy service with the digital antenatal health card
The digital Antenatal Health Card makes it easier to share information with the healthcare professionals who are following you up during your pregnancy. The information you register is shared with your midwife, GP and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
You can also share information with your GP and midwife before your first antenatal appointment.
Check whether you can use the digital antenatal health card
The digital antenatal health card is currently being piloted by some GPs, midwives and hospitals and is not yet available to everyone. You can ask your midwife or doctor whether they have started using the digital antenatal helath card.
Use the Pregnancy service without the digital antenatal health card
The Pregnancy service works in the same way whether or not your midwife or GP uses the digital antenatal health card.
Without the digital antenatal health card, information about you and your baby is stored in the service and is not not shared with the healthcare professionals who are following you up during your pregnancy. You will still need to bring the paper antenatal healht card to your appointments.
