Case processing times for patient travel

Case processing times may vary depending on the nature of the expenses you apply for reimbursement for in your application.

Cases that are processed completely automatically are paid out faster. These could be applications for reimbursement of travel expenses, and no additional expenses. 

Cases that are processed manually take the longest to process. These could be applications which are submitted either by post or via Helsenorge, with a lot of documentation concerning additional expenses, and other documentations, and which must therefore be processed manually by a case officer.

The average case processing time for manually approved cases in week 38:

The average national case processing time for digital applications which are processed automatically is 4-5 days. This is about 60% of all cases.

Unfortunately we have a longer processing time than normal at the moment. We apologize for this and have taken measures to shorten the processing time.

  • The average case processing time for all cases is 12 days.
  • The average case processing time for manually approved cases is 23 days.
