Accessibility on Helsenorge

Helsenorge cares about accessibility and universal design. Wherever possible, we aim to ensure that the services we provide exceed minimum requirements.

Our approach to universal design

Norsk helsenett (NHN) is responsible for operating and developing Helsenorge. We have an active approach to universal design, both through testing the solutions that we publish and through implementing measures to raise awareness of universal design among everyone within the organisation. The entire organisation is involved with universal design: design, content, development and testing.

NHN has dedicated specialists working on universal design, giving courses and preparing information concerning various aspects of universal design, for both the Norwegian health authorities and others.

We continually strive to correct any issues that arise and improve.

Accessibility statement

All public sector enterprises are required to issue an accessibility statement concerning their website. This statement gives a status of the accessibility of Helsenorge and any areas where we are not fulfilling current regulations.

Some content on Helsenorge is not universally designed. In the accessibility statement, we specify the content concerned, the reasons why we are not following the regulations, and the consequences for users. We take into account the requirements set out in both the EU’s Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) and the WCAG 2.1 standard.

Please notify us if you become aware of any breaches of the requirements

We want to hear feedback from users of our website.

  • Have you noticed any errors or shortcomings in the universal design of the website?
  • Do you need an alternative to content which is not universally designed?
  • Do you have any suggestions for improvements to the website?
