About the Pregnancy service and digital health card
The Pregnancy service on Helsenorge is for people who are pregnant. You can use it to follow your pregnancy, register information about yourself and your health, and receive information tailored to how far along you are in your pregnancy. You can also use the digital antenatal health card if your midwife or GP offers this.
More GPs, midwives and hospitals are starting to use the digital antenatal health card. When your healthcare professional uses the digital antenatal health card, the information you register in the Pregnancy service can be shared with them digitally.
You can use the Pregnancy service even if your healthcare professional does not use the digital antenatal health card yet. In that case, the information is only available to you.
Who uses the digital antenatal health card?
More and more GPs, midwives and hospitals are starting to use the digital antenatal health card. The overview shows which healthcare providers use the digital antenatal health card.
Useful to know about the Pregnancy service and digital health card
In the Pregnancy service, you can:
calculate your due date and see how far along you are in your pregnancy
get information about your pregnancy tailored to how far along you are
register information about yourself, your health and your pregnancy
get an overview of your antenatal appointments
upload images and documents
write your own notes and reminders
follow the development of your pregnancy, including measurements recorded by healthcare professionals
The digital antenatal health card is a digital version of the antenatal health card. It makes it possible to share information about your pregnancy with the healthcare professionals who are following you up.
When your midwife or GP uses the digital antenatal health card, the information you register in the Pregnancy service becomes available to them. For example, you can register information before your first antenatal appointment, so your midwife or GP can see it before your appointment.
When the healthcare professionals following you up during your pregnancy use the digital antenatal health card, you can share the information in your health card with them. This may include your GP, midwife or healthcare professionals at the hospital.
Not everyone uses the digital antenatal health card yet. This means that who can access your information may vary.
You can use the Pregnancy service even if your healthcare professional does not use the digital antenatal health card.
In that case, the information you register is only stored for you in the service. It is not shared digitally with healthcare professionals.
You can still show the information in the Pregnancy service to healthcare professionals at your first antenatal appointment.
This also applies if you do not want to use the digital antenatal health card.
You must still bring your paper antenatal health card to your antenatal appointments.
You can use the Pregnancy service with Basic consent level on Helsenorge. Your consent level determines, among other things, which health information you can see and which services you can use.
If you no longer want to use the Pregnancy service, you can end the service from within the Pregnancy service.
When you end the service, it will no longer appear on the Helsenorge home page. Pictures and documents you have saved in the Pregnancy service will still be available under Documents.
