If you want others to be able to use Helsenorge on your behalf, you can authorise them by granting power of attorney. They will then have access to your health data and will be able to carry out activities on your behalf, such as making doctor’s appointments and requesting repeat prescriptions.
Even if you authorise others to use Helsenorge on your behalf, you will still have access to all services and all data related to you.

Don’t want to use Helsenorge yourself, but want someone you have authorised to use it on your behalf? You can choose to set yourself as inactive on Helsenorge.
You will not be able to use the services and you will not receive notifications. You will receive a letter via the post when the health service contacts you.
Before you set yourself to inactive, you will need to grant power of attorney to the individual(s) you want to be able to use Helsenorge on your behalf. Read more about how you can grant power of attorney.
The people to whom you grant power of attorney will be able to use services at Helsenorge and read messages relating to you. All previous messages and history relating to you will be available to those you authorise.
How to set yourself to inactive on Helsenorge
You can do this yourself by going to Privacy settings and logging in.
Select “I want to be inactive on Helsenorge, but the person I have authorised will continue to use Helsenorge on my behalf”.
If you do not want to log in to Helsenorge, you can complete and submit the following form:

What you need to do to become active on Helsenorge again
Did you previously set yourself to inactive but want to use Helsenorge again? Simply complete and submit the following form:
Form to block or reinstate access to logged-in services at Helsenorge (pdf).
Select the option “Become active on Helsenorge again”.
You cannot reactivate your profile by logging in to Helsenorge, you will need to submit the form.
If you no longer want to use Helsenorge and don’t want anyone else to use it on your behalf, you will need to withdraw your consent. All data relating to you will then be deleted.
You can withdraw your consent to Helsenorge’s terms of use if you no longer wish to use Helsenorge. All data relating to you at Helsenorge will then be deleted, except data relating to consents and opt-outs.
You need to log in to Helsenorge in order to withdraw your consent. If you are unable to log in to Helsenorge to withdraw your consent electronically, you can complete and submit one of the following forms.

Consequences of withdrawing consent
If you withdraw your consent, you will no longer be able to communicate electronically via Helsenorge with for example the hospital or your GP. Any power of attorney to use Helsenorge on behalf of others will also be deleted.
Blocking access to services
You can block your own access to the services at Helsenorge, for example if others have access to your BankID or other login details.
To block access, go to Privacy settings and select Services and data you and healthcare professionals have access to.
You can also block access to all services on Helsenorge by completing and submitting the following form:

Your health data on Helsenorge will no longer be accessible. You will still have access to services on behalf of other people if you have parental responsibility or power of attorney to do so.
Note that blocking your access to services on Helsenorge will not automatically opt out from the summary care record. You would need to do that separately if necessary.
You will not receive digital messages, such as appointment letters, if you block your own access to services on Helsenorge.
If you want to block access to Helsenorge on behalf of children under the age of 16 for whom you have parental responsibility, you need to log in and go to Privacy Settings. Select Services and data you and healthcare professionals have access to.

The same form can be used to restore access.
You cannot opt out of patient medical records, but you can remove your own digital access to the service on Helsenorge. This can also be done for any children for whom you have parental responsibility. Healthcare professionals will still have access to your health data in their systems.
Complete one of the following forms to remove your access to patient medical records:
Adults:

Children under 12 years of age:
You need to use the same form if you would like to restore your access.
You can remove your digital access to the summary care record via Helsenorge. You can also opt out of having a summary care record.
If you have opted out of having a summary care record, you have 30 days to change your mind and request that the information in your summary care record be restored.
If you decide that you would like a summary care record at a later date, you need to request that a new summary care record be created. The new summary care record will not include historical data relating to medication or critical information about your health.
