If your parent(s) provide their consent, you can start using Helsenorge from the age of 13 years. Here is what you will be able to access:
- overview of your prescriptions
- your GP's contact details
- a list of your vaccinations
- self-help tools (apps, videos and courses)
More features will be added soon. You will, for example, be able to book appointments with your GP and renew prescriptions.
You can also do some things on Helsenorge without having parental consent. For example, you can look up the details of the closest health centre for adolescents. Some people can also book appointments with a public health nurse via the Helsenorge app.
Hide appointments or prescriptions from your parents
Your parents will have access to your Helsenorge profile until you turn 16 years of age. Do you have a prescription or have you had an appointment with your doctor that you would prefer your parents not to know about? You can ask your doctor to hide it from them on Helsenorge. Your doctor will decide whether or not it is a good or a bad idea.
Take more control yourself
You are legally competent to make decisions about your own health once you turn 16 years of age. From this age, you will be able to access all Helsenorge services without your parents having access, unless you grant them such access yourself. You might want to familiarise yourself with Helsenorge before you turn 16 years of age. This will enable you to gradually assume responsibility for your own health.
Even if your parents consent to you having access, they will be able to use Helsenorge on your behalf until you turn 16 years of age.
Your parents must consent to your using Helsenorge
At least one of your parents must consent to you using Helsenorge. They can do this when they log in and access your profile. They can also read more about how to consent to youth access.
Parents can view all activities on Helsenorge that are subject to parental consent, but information from the school health service in the app is visible only to you.
Log in with BankID
You need to log in with BankID to access services on Helsenorge.
You can request this from the bank you use, and you also need to get consent from your parents. Banks operate with different age limits for BankID. See list of age limits for different banks at bankid.no.
Download the Helsenorg app
If you download the Helsenorge app, you can enable facial recognition for easier login.
