Illnesses and critical information

Here you can find information about you and your health that healthcare professionals need to be able to access in connection with examinations and treatment.

You can add any illnesses or medical conditions that you have or have had in the past and that you would like health professionals to be aware of when they treat you.

Talk to your doctor first if you are unsure whether or not to add an illness.

Critical information must be entered by healthcare professionals

Critical information is information that a doctor, or sometimes a nurse or psychologist, must record about you in your summary care record via their patient record system.

More about the service

  • You can grant power of attorney to others so that they can view and enter information on your behalf and you can receive corresponding power of attorney from others.

    • View information in your summary care record
      You must give power of attorney for “Access to information that has been registered about you”.
    • Change or enter information
      You must give power of attorney for “digital health services”.

  • Children under 12 years of age

    You can use the service on behalf of children under 12 years of age for whom you have parental responsibility. The requirement is that at least one of the parents is registered in the Norwegian population register at the same address as the child.

    Children and young people between 12 and 15 years of age

    There is limited access for children and young people between 12 and 15 years of age. When the child turns 12 years of age, your access will automatically be limited.

    You will be unable to view critical information, but you can add your own information about their medical history.

    Do you require access to critical information contained in the summary care record for children in the age range 12-15 years? You will need to ask the child’s GP or another attending physician to provide you with a printout.

    From 16 years of age

    When a child for whom you have parental responsibility turns 16 years of age, you will no longer have access to their health data. The young person will need to log in to Helsenorge or grant power of attorney to you.

  • Unlisted address is often also known as «confidential address» or «blocked address».

    This service is not available to people with an unlisted address.

    If the service contains information from another service that is not available, this information will not be visible, even if this service is.

    If you live at a confidential address, you will not be able to represent others at Helsenorge, nor will others be able to act on your behalf.
